This is the grading rubric for Lab 4. The rubric does not provide specifics, but should give an idea of what a complete solution looks like and how different components are prioritized and weighted.
The assignment is out of a total of 10 points.
Rubric
Problem 1 (2 Points)
Problem missing or solution not obtained or unrelated to problem. |
Incomplete reporting of solution (consistency with the constraint, objective value, solution, etc). |
Solution found and details are provided as to its objective value and reliability. |
Problem 2 (5 points)
Problem missing or solution not reported. |
Limited details given on experimental design, including lack of detail on why different choices were made. |
Details provided on experimental design, but overall plan is not fully coherent (e.g. choices were made randomly or not moved in a consistent direction). |
Experimental design is coherent and the decisions are given clear justifications. |
Problem 3 (3 points)
Problem missing or description is terse and lacks specificity. |
Conclusions or thoughts about methods are superficial. |
Thoughts about methods are relevant but missing connections to the experiment in Problem 2 or comparisons to other optimization methods. |
Conclusions are connected to the experimental results in Problem 2 and include comparisons to other optimization methods. |
